Target Audience and Needs

General, plastic, thoracic, vascular, cardiothoracic, abdominal transplantation and surgical oncology physicians, residents, fellows and medical students need to be regularly updated on novel therapies, as well as advances in surgical care and clinical practices that will aid them in treating a variety of surgical procedures to increase the patient care experience and improve practice efficiency.


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Utilize best practice recommendations in the assessment of surgical treatment options for patients with vascular disease.
  • Outline treatment options for patients with irritable bowel disease and pelvic floor dysfunction.
  • Discuss oncogenic mechanisms in minority patients to determine if they present an opportunity to kill cancer cells.
  • Determine the adaptability of novel surgical techniques into everyday practice.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
