Target Audience and Needs

Surgeons, advanced practice providers, fellows, residents, and medical students in various surgical specialties and subspecialties need to receive regular updates on advances in surgical care and clinical practices.  Novel technologies and procedures will be examined as means to improve the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions requiring surgical intervention.  The series aims to expand the knowledge of learners, enhance surgical skills, increase surgical efficiency, disseminate surgical best practices, and improve surgical outcomes.


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Review novel surgical techniques, research, and technologies and determine their adaptability into everyday practice..
  • Implement best practice recommendations and disseminate them to various surgical practice settings.
  • Perform perioperative assessment and research to optimize patient outcomes.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
