Target Audience and Needs

Primary care physicians, fellows, residents, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other primary care providers need to receive regular updates on evidence-based guidelines, medication standards, and research advances in the field of primary care.  The series serves as a platform to discuss collaborative practice issues such as integrated care, subspecialty referrals, and process improvement of chronic, acute, and preventive care.  The series aims to expand the knowledge of learners, improve their clinical skills and competencies, enhance the quality of primary care, and improve patient outcomes.


Educational Methods

Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, and panel discussion.


Objectives

At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:

  • Apply updates and new guidelines for best practices in primary care.
  • Discuss evidence-based and cost-effective management options suitable for a safety net system.
  • Review the principles of culturally appropriate, equitable, and inclusive healthcare..
  • Identify quality metrics and programs to improve health outcomes.
  • Employ validated screening methods for enhancing preventive care practices.

Evaluation

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
