Target Audience
Educational Needs
Genetics and genomics professionals need to receive up-to-date information on gene discoveries, novel diagnostic technologies, and evolving clinical guidelines. The complexity and heterogeneity of genetic disorders require clinicians to be proficient in interpreting and applying results from advanced genetic testing. Learners need education on the clinical utility, limitations, and appropriate use of these technologies, as well as on the psychosocial and ethical implications of genetic testing. There is also a need for training in research collaboration and publication platforms to foster interdisciplinary work and improve patient care. Ultimately, education should empower clinicians to integrate new knowledge into clinical decision-making, enhance patient counseling, and optimize outcomes for patients and families.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, and audience response.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Describe and discuss clinical and research topics relevant to clinical genetics.
- Implement treatment and management guidelines for genetic disorders into practice.
- Identify current diagnostic and research methods used by clinicians and researchers in genetics.
- Engage in research collaboration and scholarly dissemination through publications and appropriate platforms, with the aim of improving patient care and advancing the field of clinical genetics.

Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
