Target Audience and Needs
Healthcare professionals involved in care of patients with breast diseases and cancer need to be regularly updated with the recent advances and guidelines in the fields of breast diseases and breast cancer. The tumor board aims to increase knowledge of the learners in these topic areas using a multidisciplinary case approach, and encourages learners to implement the advances and guidelines in clinical practice to enhance the quality of patient care and outcomes.
Educational Methods
Educational methods will include case presentations, literature review, and panel discussion.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the sessions, the participants should be able to:
- Discuss the evolution of the role of surgery and radiation in the local management of breast cancer.
- Identify the indications for germline genetic testing and incorporate the results in breast cancer management.
- Utilize FDA-approved targeted therapy and immuno-oncology agents for the various types of breast cancer.
Evaluation
Participants may be asked to complete a session evaluation.
