Activity Overview
The Center of Excellence in Health Equity, Training and Research Scholars (COE) is structured to be a catalyst for change by providing supplementary training underrepresented minority in medicine (URM) faculty to augment ongoing best practices that will enhance diversity and inclusion at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). A first step in that direction is to equip URM faculty with tools for academic excellence and leadership within the institution so that they can serve as role models for URM students and be advocates of health equity in addressing the persistent health disparities within our resource-challenged communities. The URM faculty and fellows lack technical expertise to conduct their research independently.
